Welcome to the FSAA Website

Welcome to the web site of the Financial Services Accountants Association.

The FSAA is the peak industry body for those involved in the financial services industry, particularly professionals from the fields of accounting, finance, regulation and taxation.

The FSAA services the needs of over 700 professionals in Australasia.

Objectives

 The FSAA is committed to:

  • Developing and maintaining the profile of the Association;
  • Providing formal activities and opportunities for the ongoing professional development of Members;
  • Progressively adapting to meet the needs of its Members and their roles in the financial services industry;
  • Fostering and encouraging networking between Members through involvement in FSAA activities

Volunteering - building collective knowledge

The FSAA is a membership organisation.  While we have professional, employed staff, we draw heavily on our Members’ expertise to accelerate the development of the Association and the program of services.  FSAA organises its Member contribution into two groups – Federal Council whose responsibility it is to provide a long term strategic resource and governance, and Committees that are formed to manage specific issues or address particular activities.

The Association welcomes new ideas and participation from its Members.  If you have any feedback that may help develop the Association or would like to participate in a particular Committee then please contact us.

This site has been created as a resource for Members and as a service to help foster an understanding of the types of issues impacting on accounting professionals in the financial services industry.  The Association conducts many events and training programmes.  We invite you to browse the web site, and feel free to contact us if you require any additional information.

History

The Financial Services Accountants Association Ltd (FSAA) emerged from two Insurance industry accounting bodies, one involved with the General Insurance industry and the other with the Life Insurance industry. With the emergence and consolidation of the one financial services market, which included these insurance segments, the two associations linked together to create a unified group to provide a greater service to members across a broader range of activities.
